Parallels Update For Mac Won't Run

26.05.2020by

Sorry Mac users, but NinjaTrader 8 can’t run directly on a Mac, and it doesn’t appear that this is going to change any time in the near future because mac software has to be created for mac’s and windows software has to be created for windows.

Question

I want to upgrade my Windows virtual machine to Windows 10. How do I do that?

The following will not work on OS X or in Parallels. An alternative is to download the Windows 8.1 Enterprise 90 day trial and use that to facilitate the installation of the copy you downloaded. Parallels Desktop is the best way to run Windows on your Mac. It offers lots of flexibility when it comes to which operating systems it can run and it offers a customizable experience to make it your own. Finally, if you are running Parallels and you find that your USB devices are being captured by Mac OS X but not your virtual guest OS, you can also go to the Devices menu, find the peripheral in question, and choose it to have Parallels wrest control from Mac OS X and hand it to your guest operating system.

Before you proceed

In January 2020 Windows 7 will reach the end of extended support (no more security patches).

Please note that only the following versions of Windows are supported for the upgrade to Windows 10:

  • Windows 7 SP1
  • Windows 8.1 Update

For more information please refer to Microsoft Support: Windows 10 Specifications, Windows 10 Upgrade FAQ.

Also make sure that you are running the latest update of Parallels Desktop for Mac.

NOTE: Windows 10 free upgrade policy from Microsoft ended on July 29, 2016. You may purchase a Windows 10 license from Microsoft at:
